The DA High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) in collaboration with the Field Programs Operational Planning Division conducted the re-orientation cum training workshop on the encoding and uploading of FY 2024 HVCDP targets using Operation Management Information System (OMIS) as a tool for monitoring and evaluation of the program’s accomplishments.

The activity aims to reorient the HVCDP on the objectives and features of OMIS, the central database for data collection and report generation, targets, obligations, disbursements, and accomplishments of the plans and programs implemented by the DA-HVCDP and its attached agencies. It is likewise intended to provide hands-on training to HVCDP operating units on the proper use of OMIS and its features.

The High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) is incorporated in the Operations Management Information System (O-MIS that serves as the central database for collating data and generating reports on the Physical targets, financial obligations, disbursements, and accomplishments of various HVCDP program, activities and projects. To ensure accurate and timely monitoring and evaluation, HVCDP data encoders, validators, and national approving officers underwent orientation and training on utilizing the O-MIS.

During the training sessions held in region 5 from February 14 to 16, 2024, focusing on Cluster A Luzon Region and Bureaus, and in region 12 from February 21 to 23, 2024, forming Cluster B – Visayas and Mindanao regions, participants were introduced to the new features and templates of the O-MIS (Online Management Information System). Led by Ms. Kristelle Lorizz P. Carino and supported by DA FPOPD O-MIS personnel, the training covered encoding, uploading, and report generation processes. This equipped participants with the skills needed to navigate the system effectively, enabling them to capture the region’s targets, accomplishments, and performance accurately.

In conclusion, the training held in region 5 and region 12 focus on enhancement of participants’ proficiency in utilizing the O-MIS platform, enabling them to contribute more effectively to data management and reporting within their respective regions and bureaus.
