The National High-Value Crops Development Program joins the Department of Agriculture-Cordillera Administrative Region (DA-CAR) as it launches its 3rd Regional Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Summit today. The 3-day Summit, with the theme: “GAP for Economic, Social and Environmental Sustainability” is being conducted from November 9 – 11, 2022 at Carlos P. Romulo Hall Baguio Teachers Camp, Baguio City. One of the highlights of the Summit is the awarding of GAP Certification to 35 farmers. GAP is a set of standards for the safe and sustainable production of crops that aims to help farmers maximize yields and optimize business operations while also minimizing production costs and environmental impact. Following GAP ensures quality and safe food for our consumer. Participants of the Summit may visit the trade fair/exhibit highlighting the region’s GAP products and technologies; and listen to various topics to capacitate our GAP farmers.
