The High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) is finally incorporated in the Operations Management Information System (O-MIS).

HVCDP data encoders, validators, and national approving officers had an orientation and training on the proper use of the O-MIS, Department of Agriculture’s (DA) central database for data collation and reports generation of its plans and programs’ targets, obligations, disbursements, and accomplishments.

The O-MIS shall ensure that duplication of data is eliminated, and that monitoring and evaluation of the programs and projects of the DA Banner Programs are timely and accurate which can be used as inputs for strategy formulation of the different programs and projects identified.

Cluster A participants composed of representatives from the Luzon Regions and DA Bureaus had the training in Region 1 on March 21-24, 2023 while Cluster B participants composed of representatives from the Visayas and Mindanao Regions had the training in Region 7 on March 28-31, 2023.

During the Cluster B training, DA RFO 7 Regional Executive Director Angel C. Enriquez expressed her delight with the developments in the O-MIS, especially with the integration of the HVCDP to the system. RED Enriquez reminded the participants that although the O-MIS has been improved to be utilized while offline, making it easier and more accessible for users with poor connection or on official travel, encoders still need to be diligent and meticulous in encoding and submitting their respective accomplishments following the schedule of deadlines. This way, all accomplishments of the region are captured and their actual performance reflected during management meetings and engagements.

By the end of the Workshops, the participants were able to encode, upload, and submit their FY 2023 targets and accomplishments to the system and go through a simulation of the processes and various possible scenarios that may be encountered while using the system.

The HVCDP thanks the FPOPD-OMIS for facilitating the orientation and training; and the DA RFOs 1 and 7 for hosting the O-MIS trainings for HVCDP.
