The High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) joins the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) as it launches its “Halina’t Magtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project” at Brgy. Holy Spirit, Quezon City.
DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos, Jr. headed the signing of the Pledge of Commitment to support the current direction of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr. to strengthen the strategies developing the Philippine agricommodity industries. Sec. Abalos likewise led the honorary guests composed of DILG officials, representatives from DA, National Nutrition Council, stakeholders, partners, and other participants during the inspection of the Integrated Urban Farm of Brgy. Holy Spirit which showcases various fruits and vegetables readily available for consumption by the community.
Dir. U-Nichols Manalo, DA Field Operations Service OIC, signified the Department of Agriculture’s support to the implementation and upscaling of DILG’s HAPAG sa Barangay Project. Both DILG and DA’s Gulayan Projects under the HVCDP and the National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program aim to empower the community to produce their own safe food contributing to increased food production and to food sustainability and affordability.
