The Department of Agriculture – High Value Crops Development Program (DA-HVCDP), Cordillera Administrative Region, turned over Agricultural Machineries and Equipment for the Provinces of Abra, Apayao, Benguet and Ifugao on November 8, 2022 at the DA RFO CAR Compound, Baguio City.

Under Republic Act. No. 11639 otherwise know as General Appropriations Act of 2022, former Senator Francis Kiko Pangilinan sponsored the inclusion of P50 Million fund under HVCDP to support the mechanization of farming activities nationwide, of which P21 Million was allocated to the different provinces of CAR. Around 200+ Farmer Organizations/Associations producing vegetables, fruits, and cutflowers received farm production-related machineries such as grass cutter, power sprayer, multicultivator/rotavator, and mini chainsaw. These interventions aim to improve farm productivity and increase farmers competitiveness by decreasing labor cost, among others.
