The Department of Agriculture (DA) – Caraga joined the simultaneous launch of the Green Revolution 2.0: Plants for Bountiful Barangays Movement (Luntiang Ani ng Mamamayan).
The Green Revolution 2.0 is part of the DA’s Plant Plant Plant Program which aims to secure food availability and sufficiency in the country.
Through the Green Revolution 2.0, selected barangays and educational institutions are identified to be partners of the DA to establish vegetable gardens that will showcase a food production model that other people in the community can emulate.
In the region, the DA-Caraga partnered with the Local Government Unit of Brgy. Maygatasan and the Sangguniang Kabataan of Brgy. Maygatasan in Bayugan City, as well as the Maygatasan Elementary School for the implementation of the program.
During the launching program conducted earlier today at the urban vegetable garden of the SK, the DA-Caraga turned over vegetable seeds and gardening tools to the youth organization.
Bayugan City Mayor Kirk A. Asis encouraged the members of the SK to continue their involvement in agriculture and serve as role models to the other young people.
