The DA-XI through its High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) has launched Green Revolution 2.0: Plants for Bountiful Barangays Movement at Brgy. 76-A, Bucana, Davao City, today.
In partnership with the National Urban and Peri-urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP), Local Government of Davao City and Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), the program aims to showcase various production technologies that vegetable growers can easily adopt.
“The Green Revolution 2.0 is a movement towards sustainable agriculture so I urge everyone to create their urban gardens and grow their own nutritious and safe food. This is to promote food security and sustainability in the region,” said HVCDP coordinator Rubylyn Gomez.
DA-HVCDP provided production inputs such as seeds, organic fertilizers and garden tools and facilitated an Urban Container Gardening training.
“Model urban planted with different lowland and indigenous vegetables as well as herbs and spices will be established at designated sites here,” said Gomez. | via Feliz Lim, RAFIS11
