The DA RFO 02 thru the High Value Crops Development Program and Batanes Experiment Station conducted an Onion and Highland Vegetable Technical Briefing on May 12, 2023 at the DA-BES.

Participants were members of the Federation of Ivana Integrated Farmers Association from the Municipality of Ivana, Batanes.

Herlo P. Atole from Allied Botanical Corporation discussed the Onion and Highland Vegetable Production Technology and presented to the participants the family of onion and brassicas which are adoptable to the province.

In his message, DA-BES Station Manager Dr. Richard Paddayuman expressed his gratitude to the farmers in attending the technical briefing, the HVCDP team for facilitating the said event and Atole for sharing his knowledge and skills to the farmers.

Dr. Paddayuman also shared his hopes for the farmers to adopt the latest technologies for them to contribute to and benefit from a “Masaganang Agrikultura, Maunland na Ekonomiya.”

Regional HVCDP Focal Carol Albay, also expressed her gratitude to the farmers for their participation on the technical briefing as she shared that she was very happy, and hopes to be with them again for activities as important as the technical briefing.

Also present in the activity was DA-BES HVCDP Project Leader Joan G. Blanca who welcomed the participants of the technical briefing.
