The project aims to provide livelihood program to persons deprived of liberty [PDLs] at Iwahig Prison under the latter’s reformation program.

The Department of Agriculture and the Department of Justice through the Bureau of Corrections agreed to implement a massive integrated farming project composed of livestock, aquaculture, rice, corn and high value crops production. The project responds to President Bong Bong Marcos, Jr.’s call to solve the nation’s threat to food security. This initiative is realized through the joint efforts of Dir. Glenn Panganiban of the DA-HVCDP/BPI/NUPAP and Dir. Gen. Gregorio Catapang, Jr. of the BuCor towards a steady source of local food and to make the PDLs productive while serving their terms In Iwahig Prison.
