Acting upon the directive of Dir. Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, Ph.D. to encourage more farmer organizations to form into cooperatives to allow them to optimize the benefits and support they could receive from the government, the High-Value Crops Development Program National Program Management Office (HVCDP NPMO), in partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), facilitated the conduct of the webinar entitled “Empowering High Value Crops Farmers through Cooperativism” on February 28, 2023.
The webinar was attended by 89 participants from various local government units, national government offices, academe, various associations and groups nationwide.
To equip interested groups with the basic knowledge needed to develop into a cooperative, Mr. Ray R. Elevazo, Velazco, Deputy Administrator for Institutional Development Service of the CDA, presented an overview of the State of Cooperative/Agri Cooperatives in the Philippines as well as the Programs and Services of CDA, including the requirements and processes to avail of the same.
The participants expressed their appreciation towards the very informative discussion during the webinar.
